Obtaining accreditation is a stamp of excellence for your programmes which attracts new recruits, helps gain industry confidence and showcases your standing as a quality training provider.
We accredit professional development schemes for organisations working in the engineering, science, technology or marine spheres. Accreditation is an independent assessment of your scheme against set competencies. It also means that your programme meets the knowledge, understanding and skills required for professional registration.
Why gain accreditation?
IMarEST accreditation shows that your programmes meet internationally-recognised standards. It enhances your reputation as an organisation providing high-quality training to new recruits.
Accreditation will help to promote your organisation worldwide and encourage the best talent to join. The consultation process involves independent, experienced and knowledgeable assessors with global industry expertise – this is a valuable tool for continuous improvement and advice on international best practice.
Accreditation demonstrates a commitment to professionalism and the development of your employees.
How do I accredit a scheme?
Our accreditation panel will work with you and, following a review of the programme and a panel visit, they will make a recommendation to the IMarEST’s Professional Affairs & Education Committee (PAEC) which is responsible for all accreditation decisions. Accreditation can be granted for a period up to five years.
You will be required to cover the expense of any panel visits. (NB: Given the ongoing pandemic, all accreditation visits are currently being conducted virtually.)
