Professional Affairs & Education Committee (PAEC)

The PAEC is responsible for setting our academic and professional development standards and making the final decisions regarding the accreditation of academic courses and graduate training programmes and the granting of IMarEST recognition for relevant CPD courses.

Chair, Professional Affairs & Education Committee (PAEC)

After an early career as a Mechanical Engineer, Materials Scientist and Design Engineer, Ian spent over 30 years as an academic at Warwick University. His maritime sector involvement arose from directing Warwick’s student teams in the international Human-Powered Submarine Races, for which the IMarEST is still a major sponsor. As chair of the PAEC, he is responsible for the accreditation of maritime-based engineering degrees internationally.
