Technical Leadership Committee (TLC)

The TLC leads the Institute’s technical activity. It oversees and supports the work of the technically-themed Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and identifies current, emerging and future technical issues and priorities. It ensures that the Institute operates in the public benefit by delivering sound technical outputs and providing leadership on key issues of importance and relevance to our members, the broader marine sector, governments and other regulators and the general public.

Tim uses his broad prior experience as Technical Director of Lloyd's Register to steer the Technical Leadership Committee in overseeing a technical plan for the Institute and its members, that reflects the full spread of technical and regulatory challenges facing our industry - recognising that safe integration of established and emerging technologies is key future prosperity.

Christos has more than 25 years of experience in the maritime industry, with expertise in ship management, safety & environmental strategy, and sustainability. He is currently the HSQE Manager of Maran Gas Maritime/Angelicoussis Group, overseeing an expanding fleet of LNG carriers. A the IMarEST, he serves as co-Chair of the Technical Leadership Committee, working closely with the Executive Technical and Policy Team to develop the Institute’s Technical Plan and provide technically robust recommendations that support its strategic objectives.
