As the maritime industry intensifies its pursuit of sustainable solutions to reduce emissions and fuel consumption, Rotor Sails, a technology originally conceived in the early 20th century, have emerged as a promising technology.

The team at Anemoi have been revitalising and adapting this innovative propulsion system for the demands of modern shipping for over ten years, but our journey from concept to commercial has not been without its challenges.

This lecture, presented by Stephanie Ryder, delves into the varied obstacles faced in the design, development, installation, and commercialisation of Rotor Sails. We’ll explore the aerodynamic and structural engineering complexities, the integration of Rotor Sails with existing vessel systems, and the evolving regulatory landscape.
