Discussing the status of the marine industry in the transition to green fuels and examines related reciprocating engine technologies. Starting with methane and current dual-fuel (LNG–diesel) solutions, which serve as a basis for upcoming fuels. Methanol and ammonia are then discussed for both diesel and Otto-cycle engines, followed by hydrogen, which is currently expected to be used only in Otto-cycle engines. The section concludes with a discussion on turbocharger readiness.
