Location: Marine Technical Limits Ltd, Midmill Business Park, Kintore AB51 0QP
Marine Technical Limits (MTL) are pleased to host the Aberdeen Maritime Branch for an evening technical visit focused on how digital technology, engineering innovation and practical safety systems are delivering a step-change in the inspection, repair and integrity management of floating offshore assets.
The evening will include a series of short technical sessions and live demonstrations covering:
- PYXIS: MTL’s end-to-end digital integrity management platform, demonstrating how inspection planning, data capture, engineering assessment and decision-making are integrated into a single auditable workflow. This will include a live demonstration of Elios drone and ROV integration, showing how high-quality inspection data is captured in confined and hazardous spaces and seamlessly incorporated into the integrity management process.
- Water-backed welding: from theory to practice, with a classroom-based session covering the engineering principles, risk controls and qualification philosophy, followed by a practical workshop demonstration of MTL’s water-backed welding rig used for weld qualification and repair development for offshore environments.
- Managing confined space and hot work risk on floating facilities, with practical demonstrations of MTL’s Safe System of Work and VPS skids, illustrating how MTL enables safer tank entry, ventilation, power, lighting and gas management and how the risks associated with topsides fugitive hydrocarbons can be effectively mitigated during inspection and hot work activities.
The visit is intended to be highly practical and engineering-led, providing insight into how modern digital tools and purpose-designed systems are being applied offshore today to improve safety, assurance and efficiency with relevance to Operators, Regulators, Class, and Consultants alike.
Refreshments and nibbles will be provided before and after the technical sessions, with time for informal discussion and networking.
