This Year’s Theme:
Over 80% of global trade is carried by sea, making cargo vessels essential to the world economy and major contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. The 2025 WJB Young Members’ Design Challenge invites you to design a zero-emissions cargo vessel capable of global operations. Our teams will be designing a vessel to eliminate through life emissions via smart material selection, energy reduction measures, renewables, alternative fuels, considered construction practices and sustainable vessel disposal measures.
