Ballast Water Management

  • Overview

This group raises awareness of the detrimental ecological and economic impacts of invasive species transported in ships' ballast as international marine trade continues to expand at pace.

It engages port states, flag administrations, ship owners, ballast water treatment system manufacturers, classification societies, those involved in sampling, monitoring and compliance as well as other stakeholders.

Joining the group will give you an opportunity to participate in discussions relating to current and future regulation, as well as engineering, science and technology concerns relating to invasive species and ballast water management.

If you are interested in joining the group, sign into the MyIMarEST member portal and select the group from the list.
