The IMarEST Student Section at Delft University of Technology serves as a platform connecting students, researchers, and young professionals with the global maritime community. Hosted within TU Delft’s Department of Maritime and Transport Technology, the section builds on the university’s long-standing involvement in maritime research and education.
TU Delft is internationally recognised for its contributions to ship design, offshore engineering, maritime energy systems, and autonomous shipping. The department produces significant academic research and has strong collaborations with the Dutch maritime sector, which is widely regarded as one of the leading maritime innovation ecosystems in the world.
The IMarEST Student Section aims to strengthen the connection between academic research and real-world maritime challenges. Our goal is to inspire young engineers to engage with the maritime industry through both academic and professional pathways, while contributing to the development of solutions for pressing challenges such as the energy transition and the decarbonisation of shipping.
Through technical events, industry engagement, and collaboration with researchers and companies across the Dutch maritime ecosystem, the section promotes knowledge exchange between academia and industry. By encouraging student participation in research, discussion, and innovation, the IMarEST Student Section at TU Delft aims to contribute to the Netherland's position in maritime technology and engineering.
