Defined Route for Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) Marine Engineering Officers and Ratings
IMarEST recognises that the training offered to Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) Marine Engineering Officers and Ratings is amongst the best in the world, with excellent professional development assessment and quality control mechanisms in place.
Consequently, under the licence authority vested in it by the Engineering Council, and in partnership with the RNZN, the IMarEST has created a special defined process for Marine Engineering Officers and Ratings to apply for IMarEST membership and professional registration at the appropriate level, depending on their experience:
- Chartered Engineer/Chartered Marine Engineer (CEng, CMarEng)
- Incorporated Engineer/Incorporated Marine Engineer (IEng/IMarEng)
- Engineering Technician/Marine Engineering Technician (EngTech/MarEngTech)
The IMarEST’s defined route to membership and registration requires only the completion of a short application form, confirmation of RNZN qualifications, copies of academic certificates and the successful completion of a professional review interview for Chartered and Incorporated registration.
