New mentoring programme is latest benefit for members
We’ve launched Member-to-Member (M2M) Mentoring, our new mentoring programme. This initiative is a key part of efforts to refresh our learning and development offer, designed for the exclusive use of IMarEST’s members to facilitate personal and professional growth.
M2M Mentoring provides IMarEST members with the opportunity to develop a one-to-one relationship with an experienced marine professional to help them set goals, overcome challenges, and develop skills. Through M2M Mentoring, both mentees and mentors will meet marine professionals who share their passion for the industry, whilst gaining diverse perspectives and long-term professional friendships
Nicole Luque, learning and development manager at the IMarEST said: “We’re extremely grateful to our members that have given their time to become mentors. We are sure they will make a meaningful contribution to the industry and build lasting connections.
“And with our industry facing a workforce shortfall, it’s crucial we do all we can to ensure people thrive, and choose to stay, in the marine sector.”
M2M Mentoring is available at all membership grades, including our free student membership, as well as our discounted early career associate and seafarer memberships.
IMarEST members simply need [sign in] to our mentoring pages (using their IMarEST website login) to set up an M2M Mentoring profile, which identifies expertise, skills and interests. The platform will then suggest suitable matches between mentees and mentors, along with a range of resources to facilitate the process from beginning to end.
The M2M Mentoring programme is endorsed by the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development as a Decade Activity.
