This role involves overseeing all welding engineering activities in support of vessel construction activities at the shipyard. The Manager will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders, including welding/steel trade managers, stage of construction managers, regulatory bodies, statutory agencies, and customers.
The Marine Systems Engineer is responsible for engineering activities relating to the design, procurement, and integration. Outfit equipment may include, but is not limited to, mission equipment, lifting appliances, winches, anchoring & mooring equipment, boat davits, aviation support systems, watertight doors & hatches, accommodation systems, joinery and fixtures for accommodations and workshops. This role will report to the Team Lead for Hull Outfitting and Aviation.
The Mechanical Engineer is part of the engineering team that develops marine navigation and bridge systems for organisational government and naval markets that offer market-leading performance and reliability, minimise production costs and are maintainable over an extended lifecycle. The Mechanical Engineer designs, selects, evaluates and documents mechanical components and their interconnection within the bridge systems.
The Principal Engineer (Naval Architecture) performs a broad range of discipline-specific assignments on major ship repair and conversion projects. Collaborating with the Engineering Manager, this role participates in all dry docking and refit projects at Victoria Shipyards; it carries out work thoroughly, safely, and efficiently across the navy and commercial programs.
Due to an increase in marine design work, our client has an immediate requirement for experienced detail designers to join the project team on both a permanent and contract basis. The role can be based from either Preston or Bristol, however, provision for flexible working following a successful onboarding process will be considered.
Systems Engineer is part of the engineering team that develops marine navigation and bridge systems for the company’s government and naval markets. The Systems Engineer plays a critical role in the development of the overall system requirements’ design and definition for the company’s complex products. The Systems Engineer will execute various system engineering functions throughout the life cycle of the project.
This position requires a hands-on approach, and the role will encompass all phases of project development, from pre-contract activities through to final handover and customer sign-off. It is envisaged that this position will be 60% field-based and 40% office-based (as a guide). The ideal candidate will oversee and manage ship repair projects through effective coordination of internal and external resources.
