Why should I gain RMarSci registration?
RMarSci registration provides employers, regulatory authorities, industry bodies and other stakeholders with assurance of the quality of their workforce.
It ensures high and improving standards across all technological disciplines, reflecting best practice and is set at an internationally recognised benchmark level.
What do I need to gain RMarSci?
The exemplifying educational standard is a Bachelor degree in an approved subject, but the registration is open to everyone who can demonstrate the required high-level knowledge, understanding and professional competence.

- Applying general and specialist knowledge to existing and emerging technology
- Providing technical and commerical management
- Demonstrating effective interpersonal skills
These are mandated by the IMarEST and represent the expected professional undertakings of a Registered Marine Scientist. For more information, view the IMarEST Registers Standards.
