What do I need to gain CEng?
Registrants at this level should have an accredited integrated Masters degree or a combination of accredited Bachelors and Masters degrees, however applicants who do not have this but can demonstrate other relevant learning through experience can also apply.
During the application for CEng, registrants will be asked to demonstrate theoretical knowledge and successful application, responsibiliy for financial and planning aspects of projects, and leadership and development of other staff. Applying for CEng
To become a CEng registrant, applicants must have their competence assessed by the IMarEST according to the Engineering Council's standards. Members can begin the application process online here.

Standards required for engineers
The UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC), published by the Engineering Council, describes the value of becoming registered and explains the steps necessary to achieve professional registration.
It outlines the requirements that have to be met and the competencies that need to be displayed in order to gain these qualifications and gives examples of ways of doing this.

International Register of Professional Engineers (IntPE)
Chartered Engineers are eligible to apply to join the International Register of Professional Engineers (IntPE), which is open to Chartered Engineers who are registered with the Engineering Council.
