The PSB oversee the quality of the IMarEST proceedings, acting through the individual editorial boards, for Marine Technical Notes (MTN), the Journal of Marine Engineering and Technology (JMET) and the Journal of Operational Oceanography (JOO).
This includes the appointment of the editors-in-chief for the journals and ensuring that the individual editorial boards discharge their responsibilities satisfactorily and, in particular, that they ensure the timely production of articles and papers reflecting the interests of the marine engineering, marine science and marine technology community. The PSB also oversee and manage the process for the identification of suitable paper authors to be recipients of the relevant prizes and awards.
The PSB also advise the Executive on matters related to future books strategy including subject areas requiring coverage, and on potential new markets and developments relevant to the publication of learned society papers and books, and have oversight of the quality of the IMarEST book portfolio.
Full terms of reference for the Publications Supervisory Board can be found in the Regulations of the Institute.
